5 Things to do in Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is one of the top places in Costa Rica. It is the most visited national park in the country for a reason! There are so many Monkeys, Sloths, Birds and almost any other animals one can think of. Manuel Antonio is also one of the top places in the country for fishing, it is close to multiple waterfalls and the Savegre runs right above it, the perfect spot for rafting.

1. Visit the National Park
As mentioned above the Manuel Antonio National park is the most visited national park in the country. With an abundance of monkeys, sloths, birds, many other animals and possibly the most beautiful beach in the country, it is no surprise this is a top visited location. Although the national park is great, with so many animals knocking about around our Tree House villas, you might not even have to go!
2. Go Rafting Down the Savegre
The Rafting just around 30 minutes away from the center of Manuel Antonio is some of the best in the country during rainy season. This is a bit of a switch up from the regular activities in other beach towns as they don’t have one of the biggest rivers in the country running right through the town.
3. Night and Day Animal Spotting Tours
As mentioned a couple times already, Manuel Antonio is unique because of how dense the wildlife and fauna is. There are multiple species of Mammals, Reptiles, birds and more plants than I can count. Because of this, one of the top activities suitable for everybody are the night and day tours. In the day you’ll see Toucans, Lapas, Monkeys, Sloths and even Whales if you are lucky! At night you’ll see Multiple different species of Frogs, Snakes and possibly even some nocturnal animals.
4. Great Food at Places like Emilio’s
Manuel Antonio is also spoilt for choice in terms of food options. Emilio’s cafe is a favourite of mine because of their top quality food and amazing view as you can see below. They do everything from breakfasts, brunch, dinners and cocktails, all of which are delicious. This is the same for Cafe Milagro which even has live music on a few times a week. There are many other top spots to eat in the area!
5. Visit Nauyaca Waterfall
Around a 45 minutes drive, and another 45 minute hike up the waterfalls, Nauyaca is one of the best waterfalls in the country alongside the La Fortuna Waterfall. There are even two levels and you can swim in either one! It really is a majestic spot in the country, and the cold water is great to swim in after a hike in the Costa Rican sun!
Spend an hour or two savouring the view or enjoying a refreshing swim, before venturing off to explore other attractions in the area.
